Is your PC ready for Hogwarts Legacy? PC System Requirements Released

Can you run it? Here are Hogwarts Legacy's PC system requirements

Hogwarts legacy is due to release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 10th, and Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software have now released the game's PC system requirements to let gamers know if their PCs are ready for gaming's latest wizarding adventure.

The good news is that Hogwarts Legacy's minimum system requirements are on the low side, asking gamers for a quad-core processor, 16GB of RAM, and graphics cards that include AMD's Radeon RX 470 and Nvidia's GeForce GTX 960 4GB. These are not high system requirements, though it is worth noting that these hardware specs are only targeting 720p 30 FPS gameplay.

If you want 1080p 60 FPS gameplay, you will need to look at Hogwarts Legacy's recommended system requirements, which list newer 6-core CPUs, and graphics cards like Nvidia's GTX 1080 Ti and AMD's RX 5700 XT. This hardware targets 1080p 60 FPS gameplay at high settings. SSD storage is recommended to play Hogwarts Legacy, and higher-end GPU hardware will be required for 1440p or 4K gameplay at 60 FPS.

Currently, it is unknown if Hogwarts Legacy will support AMD's FSR 2.0 technology or Nvidia's DLSS AI upscaler. Support for these features would be welcome, especially for gamers who want to target higher framerates, resolutions, or settings than their hardware would otherwise support.

Funny thig is that everyone that I know that are Harry Potter fans and were interested in this game, don't meet the minimum system requirements for 720p 30fps in one way or another...

This is pathetic code, especially considering they still plan to launch the game on last-gen consoles at a later date and that it will have a switch version...

For those people, I just hope, the community can make some mods to allow it to run on lower-end hardware.Quote

I'll be honest, I think these requirements are higher than they need to be for 720p 30 FPS. It's not uncommon for minimum system requirements to be higher than strictly necessary to avoid complaints. IE, it makes sure that gamers have hardware that is more than good enough to run the game.Quote

I for one am happy that it simply doesn't look like PS1 Harry. I therefore expect some eye candy and would rather prefer it over compatiblity with MUCH lower end hardware.

On the other hand... My system feels even older now...Quote

I meet the "Ultra 4K" requirements just about, not sure if I am going to get the game or not but will be interesting to see how it looks cranked to the max.Quote
