Is your PC ready for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition? – PC System Requirements Revealed

Mass Effect legendary Edition promises to deliver a lot, bringing to the franchise improved visuals, higher quality audio, high-resolution cutscenes and more, recreating the classic RPGs for a modern audience with 4K resolution support and more.

On PC, gamers can expect many platform-specific improvements, such as improved UI navigation, enhanced gamepad support, support for unlocked 60+ framerates and support for ultrawide 21:9 resolutions.

By today’s standards, most of Mass Effects’ PC releases could be considered poor ports, making the Mass Effect Legendary Edition EA’s opportunity to address the problems with Mass Effect’s original PC releases. At this time we have not seen any PC gameplay for Mass Effect Legendary Edition, but EA has revealed the game’s PC system requirements for those who want to see them.

On the CPU-side, Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be able to run on Windows 10 systems with CPUs that are equal to or stronger than AMD’s FX-8350 and Intel’s i5-3570, both of which are low-end by today’s standards. The game will also require 8GB of system memory and a graphics card with at least 2GB of RAM. EA has listed AMD’s Radeon HD 7970 and Nvidia’s Geforce GTX 760 graphics cards within the game’s minimum requirements.

EA’s hardware recommendations are a lot more modern, asking users for processors that are equal too or better than AMD’s Ryzen 7 3700X  or Intel’s Core i7-7700. 16GB of system memory is also recommended, as is a graphics card with 4GB of VRAM or more that is equal to or better than AMD’s Radeon RX Vega 56 or Nvidia’s GTX 1070.

Storage-wise, EA’s Origin client lists the game as requiring 120GB of storage while Steam lists the game as requiring 110GB of storage. We suspect that EA’s system requirement on Origin is more up to date, as the game’s system requirements on Steam currently contain a typo that claims that the game requires 16MB of memory.

At this time, it is unknown what the resolution and framerate targets of these minimum and recommended specifications are, though we expect EA to release more detailed hardware requirements closer to the game’s launch. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 on May 14th.

Below are Mass Effect Legendary Edition’s PC system requirements, as listed on EA’s Origin platform. The game system requirements on Steam are slightly different, listing a 110GB storage requirement.
