Kingdom Come: Deliverance will release DRM-free on GOG

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is non-linear RPG which places players into medieval Europe, aiming for historical accuracy rather than the high-fantasy of most modern RPGs. This real-world focus gives Kingdom Come a unique look and feel, offering an authentic interpretation of Medieval Bohemia as the nation is plunged into a brutal civil war.

This title was initially funded on Kickstarter, with the game's developer, Warhorse Studios, co-publishing the game with Deep Silver on consoles. Kingdom Come will release on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC (Steam) on February 13th, though it has also been revealed that another version of the game will be released on February 27th.

This new version is the DRM-Free PC version, which will release on GOG, delivering the same title without and integration into Steam and their Steamworks DRM. At this time it is unknown why the game will be delayed for two weeks on GOG.

I'd rather get this on Steam simply because I can get it far cheaper off a key website. GOG just doesn't have that optionQuote

How did I not know about this game before?! This looks phenomenal!

As for where to buy it I'm actually undecided. While I prefer GOG on principle alone it's hard to deny that getting it cheaper elsewhere is extremely tempting. Most games don't get GOG releases until much later (as in years) so it's just a case of re-purchasing them for pennies in the GOG sales. This is different a situation, one I'm not used to facing. I guess it really will come down the prices on various sites and how long I'm willing to wait for the price to come down on GOG before pulling the trigger.Quote

Yeah I got it for nearly 40% off and only paid $38.59 for mine. So honestly as much as I love GOG for what they are doing, money is more of a concern to me.Quote

Weird game. It looks both awesome and boring at the same time.Quote
