Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1+2 Remastered is coming to PC

No, Legacy of Kain’s remasters aren’t PlayStation exclusive

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1+2 Remastered is coming to PC. While the remaster was revealed at a Sony event, the game isn’t coming exclusively to Sony hardware.

On PC, the games will be available through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Crystal Dynamics provided Aspyr with the source code for the original games, allowing these remastered to feature the same combat, puzzles, and mechanics as the original. However, the games have been improved with new models, textures, improved controls, and other quality-of-life changes.

Yes, the game doesn’t look great by today’s standards. That said, the game looks a lot better than its original version. Essentially, this remaster maintains the look and feel of the original but has large enough upgrades to prevent the game from looking and feeling too dated. For those who want to see the game as it was originally released, a toggle will be available to let players switch between this game’s original and remastered visuals.

(Original VS Remaster)

If this remaster succeeds, other games in the series may be similarly remastered. Should there be sufficient demand for a sequel, the series could be revived.
