Hangar 13’s remake of Mafia is a golden opportunity for the studio to modernise the franchise, offering gamers more than a mere graphical upgrade. With Mafia: Definitive Edition, Hangar 13 is working to make Mafia more fun and engaging than ever by tweaking the game’s mechanics, assets and more.

For starters, Mafia’s Lost Heaven map has been reworked to make the city more fun to drive through, widening streets, reducing steep 90-degree turning angles and making the city a little more crowded in terms of both traffic and pedestrians.

While the game’s story is the same as before, every cinematic in the game has been remastered to deliver a more cinematic flair, and the studio has added additional content to the game to make Mafia’s story more engaging than before. Every mission from the original game will be present, but gamers can expect additional dialogue and more character development.

With Mafia: Definitive Edition, Hangar 13 plans to show gamers how remakes can improve classic games in ways beyond graphics. PC Gamers will be able to see these improvements when Mafia: Definitive Edition release on August 28th.
