Mafia: Definitive Edition’s 4K Gameplay Reveal trailer leaks onto the web

Hangar 13 planned to host its first “Gameplay Reveal” for Mafia: Definitive Edition later today, but that footage has already leaked onto the web, allowing gamers to get a glimpse of the game at 4K.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a full-on remake of Mafia, promising gamers modern visuals, reworked gameplay and new content which wasn’t present within the PS2 original. In essence, this is what Mafia would have looked like if it was developed today, reimagining the game through a modern lens. The game is due to release on September 25th on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Within this remake, Mafia’s Lost Heaven map has been reworked to make the city more fun to drive through, widening streets, reducing steep 90-degree turning angles and making the city a little more crowded in terms of both traffic and pedestrians. Driving through Lost Haven will be a much better experience than before.

While the game’s story is the same as Mafia’s original release, every cinematic in the game has been remastered to deliver a more filmic flair, and the studio has added additional content to the game to make Mafia’s story more engaging than before. Every mission from the original game will be present, but gamers can expect additional dialogue and more character development.

With Mafia: Definitive Edition, Hangar 13 plans to show gamers how remakes can improve classic games in ways beyond graphics.

Mafia: Definitive Edition will release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 25th. On PC, Mafia: Definitive Edition will release on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
