Mafia III: Definitive Edition trailer leaks online – No Upgrades?

2K Games is due to release more information about its Mafia Trilogy re-releases today, but prior to this reveal, a trailer for Mafia III Definitive Edition has appeared online, via Victor Rodríguez on YouTube.

Based on this trailer, Mafia III: Definitive Edition will feature no graphical upgrades over the game’s original incarnations. This oddity makes sense given Mafia III’s status as a current-generation title. The game’s Definitive Edition will include all of the game’s DLC content and appears to feature no other upgrades.

Mafia III: Definitive Edition is, in reality, Mafia III: Complete Edition, making it the least exciting game in the 2K’s revamped Mafia Trilogy. Back in 2016, in our Mafia III performance review, we noted that the game ran terribly on high-end PCs at launch, though consistent hardware advancements have allowed the game to run much better on modern systems.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is set to launch at a remake of the original Mafia within an enhanced version of Mafia III’s engine and Mafia II Definitive Edition will be an HD remaster of the PS3/Xbox 360 original. Both of these games will feature graphical enhancements over their original counterparts, as well as higher resolution gameplay.
