With this new version, Malwarebytes 3.0 now offers Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit, Anti-Ransomware and website protection technologies, as well as their traditional remedy tools. With this update the scanning process is now 4x faster, allowing the application to complete jobs faster and allow your PC to get back to work as quickly as possible.

With the launch of Malwarebytes 3.0, we are confident that you can finally replace your traditional antivirus, thanks to our innovative and layered approach to preventing malware infections using a healthy combination of proactive and signature-less technologies.

Malwarebytes can still be used in conjunction with over Anti-Virus solutions for enhanced system protection, with full compatibility with Symantec, McAfee, Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials.

Please be aware that the Free version of Malwarebytes does not offer real-time protections, which means that it cannot be used as an Anti-Virus replacement, which means that Malwarebytes users should consider whether or not they need the premium version.

Below is a table showcasing the benefits of the premium version over the free version.

I would buy stuff like this but the whole monthly/yearly thing always puts me off. I wouldn't mind paying £40, but not every year. That's a bit much.Quote

I am already subscribed. For just £40 a year, to have even more protection on your PC, but also your families PCs, totally worth it in my opinion.

Small annual charge for something that protects your PC on a daily basis, the entire year.Quote

The problem is you can get it free from plenty of places. My favourite is Bullguard because I found it the least intrusive when it came to gaming and I used it for two years when I could get the licenses for £10 but £40+ is nuts.Quote

Well each to their own Same with cars, some people are happy with a cheap Fiat Punto, but some just have to have an Audi.Quote
