Mario Kart Wiicompiled unveiled for PC
Mario Kart Wii is getting rebuilt for PC
The YouTuber Patchzy, has unveiled Mario Kart Wiicompiled, the first-ever static recompilation project for a Wii game. This project will rebuild Mario Kart Wii for the PC, creating a native PC version of the game that’s moddable and has over 200 tracks.
The first beta release for this unofficial Mario Kart Wii PC version will arrive in August. This version will arrive with support for “online play and optional Retro Rewind support”. It will also come with the aforementioned “200 tracks”. Note that Retro Rewind is a community mod that adds retro tracks from other Mario Kart games to Mario Kart 7 (Wii). It also adds custom tracks to the game. With Mario Kart Wiicompiled, this community mod will be coming to PC.
Sadly, no further details for Mario Kart Wiicompiled are available. That said, Patchzy has stated that they will reveal more information soon. With the beta arriving next month, gamers will not have to wait for long before they hear more about this project.
Below is a first look video for Mario Kart Wiicompiled;
Mario Kart 7 (Wii) is one of the most highly regarded games in the franchise. While there are newer Mario Kart games, the Wii game is known for its great track designs, chaotic nature, and accessibility. Almost anyone can try out Mario Kart 7 and have fun. Soon, that joy will be available to PC gamers through this “Wiicompiled” project. Note that, like other recompilation projects, this game will require an original Wii ROM file for Mario Kart Wii to play.
