Marvel''s Spider-Man Remastered's PC version is now Steam Deck Verified

Marvel's Spider-Man will be playable on Steam Deck at launch

Marvel's Spider-Man is coming to PC on August 12th, and Insomniac Games has confirmed that the game will be fully playable on Steam Deck on Day 1. Spider-Man Remastered is Steam Deck verified, bringing the modern web-swinger to handheld gaming devices for the first time.

PlayStation Studios has quickly become one of the strongest supporters of Valve's Steam Deck gaming system, leading many gamers to see the Steam Deck as a spiritual successor to the PlayStation Vita. All of Sony's newest PC releases are Steam Deck verified, including God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Days Gone. Valve's Steam Deck is the closest thing to a new PSP that we may ever get.

At this time, it is unknown how well Spider-Man Remastered will run on Valve's portable Steam Deck gaming system, but given the fact that Marvel's Spider-Man originally launched on PlayStation 4, our guess is that Spider-Man Remastered will run well on Valve's PC gaming handheld. Valve's Steam Deck has an 800p screen resolution, a RDNA 2 based graphics solution, and a Zen 2 processor. This gives the Steam Deck the same technological underpinnings as a PlayStation 5, albeit in a less powerful and portable form factor.

Having day-1 support for major releases like Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered is a big deal for Valve's Steam Deck. Valve has made Linux into a viable PC gaming platform, and their Steam Deck has delivered portable PC gaming to the masses with support for a huge number of popular games, including new AAA releases. Valve's Steam Deck is the only system that can play Spider-Man Remastered natively, and that is a huge selling point for Valve.
