Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to PC in early 2025

Sony’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to PC a lot sooner than expected

Insomniac Games and Nixxes have confirmed that Spider-Man 2 is coming to PC on January 30th 2025, around one year and three months after the game’s PlayStation 5 launch. On PC, the game will launch on Steam and the Epic Games Store and will arrive with all of the game’s free post-launch update content.

Unfortunately, Sony will be sticking with their PlayStation Network (PSN) login requirements with this new PlayStation PC release. That means PC gamers will need a PlayStation account to play this game. While this is annoying, owners or any recent PlayStation PC release will already have a PSN account, and logging in isn’t that difficult. Regardless, this login requirement is unnecessary for a single-player game and should be optional.

Insomniac Games and Nixxes have not revealed the PC features or system requirements for this new Spider-Man entry. However, we can guess that the game will support FSR 3.1, DLSS 3, and other standard PC features. We expect nothing less than the same PC feature set as Sony’s prior two Spider-Man PC releases. After all, all three games are coming from the same developers.

Spider-Man 2 is coming to PC on January 30th 2025. That makes this the fastest PlayStation-to-PC transition to date. Currently, it is unclear what Sony’s plans are for PC game releases. That said, it looks like the company is accelerating its PC release plans. Perhaps Sony sees a benefit to bringing their games to PC soon after consoles. If nothing else, their PC games would better benefit from the marketing of their PS5 counterparts, and their games will appear less “old” when they release on PC.
