Mass Effect: Legendary Edition receives a Graphics Comparison Trailer

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be launching on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next month, and it will overhaul the visuals of the entire trilogy, enabling new graphical effects while enhancing the assets and level design of all three original games.

Bioware has confirmed that Mass Effect Legendary Edition will contain over 30 thousand remade textures, reworked models for all major characters and improvements across the game’s entire post-processing pipeline.

New changes to Mass Effect will include new 4K-ready assets, new volumetric effects, the addition of effects like Ambient Occlusion, Subsurface scattering and Bokeh Depth of Field. These changes will make the Mass Effect series prettier than more cinematic than ever, especially on systems that will also offer the game at 60 FPS framerates.

Audio-wise, the Mass Effect series will also benefit from higher fidelity audio samples, giving gamers a superior audio experience. When combined with the series’ visual and gameplay enhancements, the Legendary Edition will be the definitive way to replay the original Mass Effect trilogy in 2021.

On PC, Mass Effect fans will also benefit from 21:9 resolution support, official gamepad support and DirectX 11 compatibility. Legacy issues with Mass Effect 1-3’s original PC versions should also be addressed with the release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
