Metro 2039 to be unveiled this week – leaker claims
A new Metro game is likely to be unveiled this week
According to renowned gaming leaker Jez Corden, 4A Games is preparing to unveil the next game in its iconic Metro series. The new game will reportedly be titled Metro 2039 and will be a new mainline entry in the Metro franchise. Sony plans to host a new PlayStation “State of Play” event this week, which could be the reveal event for Metro 2039.
Metro 2039 will be the first new Metro game since 2019’s Metro Exodus. The game will likely use a new version of 4A Games’ custom 4A Engine and build on the advanced ray tracing features of Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition.
It is currently unknown what the story of 4A’s new Metro game will be. Will it be a new beginning for the franchise with new characters, or will it continue Artyom’s story? Metro Exodus is set in 2035, meaning the game takes place 4 years later.
Metro 2039.
Soon.

Even today, Metro Exodus is a graphical showcase. All Metro games have launched. With 2039, we expect to see great visuals on PC and consoles. That said, we expect the game’s PC and PS5 Pro versions to stand above the rest. After all, the availability of more powerful ray-tracing hardware on these platforms should have a significant impact. Given 4A Games’ past associations with Nvidia, I’d expect Metro 2039 to be a new GeForce RTX showcase.
