Metro 2035 is in the works

Deep Silver has confirmed that a new Metro game is in the works, though the company has confirmed that the game will not launch in 2017 like some outlets originally reported.

This announcement came from the Metro 2035 website, which pointed to 2017 as the release date for "the next Metro game", though Deep Silver has since confirmed that this is false.

4A games, the developers of the Metro series, has confirmed that the company is working on two different projects, the first of which is the VR-exclusive game Arktika.1 and the second of which remains unannounced.

You may have noticed some sites have reported that a new Metro game would be released in 2017. Deep Silver has released the following statement...

As the exclusive rights holder to videogames set in the Metro 2033 universe, Deep Silver has ambitious plans for the hugely successful Metro series.

But just to manage our fans' expectations - releasing the next Metro game in 2017 is not one of them.

When we have more news to share, we will.

Metro 2035 is in the works

(The Metro 2033 game series is based on the popular Polish novels. )

Right now it is unknown when the next Metro game will be released, apart from the fact that it will be releasing after 2017.

Wonder if DS can get DX12/Vulkan implemented correctly for PC users. It would be a solid bench game based off previous title history(while still being pretty good games in general)Quote

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and METRO series have been brutal to my bank balance. Loved them but they know how to tax your resources and make you upgrade. I should start saving now then Quote

S.T.A.L.K.E.R series are still my all time favorite titles and even to this day, an i7 with a 10 series GPU still take a pounding when maxing it out in DX10. I did enjoy the original Metro titles so this will inevitably find a place in my library.Quote

I thought 2033 was too hard. I got stuck and tried a few times but each time I would die.

Last Light on the other hand though is a classic. Whereas 2033 was just designed to go along with a book (and thus the gameplay was primitive in ways) Last Light felt like a proper meaty game. It also wasn't too hard (still wasn't what I would call easy though !) and I managed to complete it. The story in LL was just wonderful. Loved the flash back in the plane, that will haunt me forever.Quote
