Microsoft Flight Simulator has been rated for Xbox One
Previously, Microsoft has discussed a potential Xbox One version of Microsoft Flight Simulator; they never officially confirmed that an Xbox One version of the flight sim would ever release. Microsoft Flight Simulator is an incredibly demanding game on PC, making an Xbox One port of the game seem almost unachievable, at least without some heavy game optimisations.
Microsoft Flight Simulator has long term support plans on PC and Xbox Series X/S, and those plans include increased optimisation as the game continues to be developed. On PC, a DirectX 12 version of the game is expected, as are other updates that will make the game easier to run at high framerates. These updates could be what makes an Xbox One version of the game possible.Â
Sadly, PEGI’s rating of Microsoft Flight Simulator for Xbox One is not a confirmation that the game is coming to that platform. PEGI could have mislabeled the game as an Xbox One title, and it is also possible that Microsoft Flight Simulator may be coming to Xbox One through xCloud Streaming. Until Microsoft officially reveals Microsoft Flight Simulator for Xbox One, nothing is certain.Â
Microsoft Flight Simulator is an impressive game, both in terms of scale and ambition. Bringing the game to Xbox One would be a huge achievement for Asobo Studio and Microsoft, and that achievement would add another great title to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service.Â
