Microsoft promises 120FPS upgrades for Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox Series X/S

Microsoft has confirmed that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be enhanced for Microsoft’s Xbox Series X/S systems on November 17th, bringing 120 FPS support to the game’s campaign and multiplayer modes as well as display resolutions of up to 4K.

This upgrade will be free to existing owners of the collection and will be available as part of Xbox Game Pass, making this new edition of Halo: The Master Chief Collection incredibly accessible to all Xbox Series X/S owners.

In addition to 120FPS support and up to 4K resolutions, the game will also feature “split-screen improvements” and support for cross-gen play. FOV adjustment will also be part of the package, bringing the collections PC features to consoles for the first time.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection contains Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach and Halo 4. Strangely, this Xbox Series X/S release of Halo doesn’t coincide with the launch of Xbox Series X/S on November 12th.
