Microsoft teases “important” Xbox announcements at The Game Awards

Microsoft teases Xbox News and Important Announcements plans for The Game Awards

The Game Awards will be hosted next month, and while Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios may have no contenders for Game of The Year, they do have plans to make “important announcements” at the event.

2023 has been a big year for Microsoft. This year saw the launch of both Starfield and Forza Motorsport on PC and Xbox. The year started strong with the surprise launch of Hi-Fi Rush, but had a low point with the release of Redfall, which failed to impress gamers. With their acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Xbox is a lot larger than it used to be. That means that Microsoft has a lot of content to potentially showcase at The Game Awards.

Microsoft has stated that there will be “important announcements and other Xbox news” at the event. Currently, it is unknown what these announcements are. That said, we expect to see new Game Pass announcements and perhaps some new game reveals.

Microsoft has used The Game Awards to make major gaming announcements in the past. The Game Awards in 2019 was host to the Xbox Series X’s reveal. Beyond that, 2021’s The Game Awards was used to showcase the power of Xbox Series consoles with a Hellblade II.

As usual, gamers should expect several new game reveals and updates at The Game Awards. Gamers can also expect heightened security, as the events organisers want to avoid stage invasions and other antics this year.
