Xbox Insiders can now access PC Game Pass in 40 more countries
Microsoft has bought PC Game Pass to 40 more countries in the form of a Xbox Insider Preview, making the service more widely available in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
PC Game Pass will be available to gamers within these 40 new markets though the Microsoft Xbox Insider Hub app, which can be used to unlock a preview version of PC Game Pass. Microsoft hopes to release PC Game Pass fully within these markets over the next few months, allowing all PC gamers to access the service.
With this expansion, PC Game Pass is now available in 86 countries, greatly expanding the reach of Microsoft's subscription service. Microsoft are pushing their gaming subscriptions hard, seeing it as a vital area of growth for Xbox both inside and outside of the console market.
Microsoft has stressed that new games are being added to PC Game Pass on a consistent basis, with Minecraft Legends arriving on Tuesday, April 18, and Redfall arriving on May 2. Atomic Heart is a recent addition to Xbox and PC Game Pass, and the service already incudes heavy hitters like Minecraft, Halo, Gears of War, Forza, and Age of Empires.
PC is an obvious growth area for Xbox, and PC Game Pass has a lot of value to provide to PC gamers, especially if they want to play any new releases through the service, or if they are newcomers to PC gaming and have relatively small game libraries.
