Microsoft’s upcoming exclusive titles will be available a launch on Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has been taking a lot of risky steps with Xbox One, going all-in on backwards compatibility, Xbox/PC centric programs like Xbox Play Anywhere and their “Gaming Netflix” style Game Pass subscription service. These options set Microsoft apart from Sony, who remains dominant in the modern console market despite Microsoft’s attempt to offer better services on the platform. 

With Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, users can access a catalogue of over 100 titles for a monthly subscription of $9.99/£7.99, allowing Xbox users to download copies of popular first-party titles like Halo 5, Gears of War 4, Recore and Metal Gear Solid V at an affordable price. Now, Xbox has revealed that they will be bringing three of their soon to be released first-party titles to the service at launch, allowing players to pay a small subscription fee instead of an upfront $60 payment.  

Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3 will all be part of this service when each game launches, offering users of the service a lot of value for money. Pre-orders for Sea of Thieves are currently around £42 on Amazon, which is equivalent to over five months of access to Xbox’s Game Pass service. With this change, Xbox’s Game Pass offers a lot of value for gamers, especially if you don’t plan on playing Sea of Thieves for over five months, as users can simply cancel their subscription and save money, or get their value out of other games on the service.
