Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to get free DLC.

Free is always good! We know this and it seems like Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment know it too. Today, we see the release of a new DLC pack which allows players to take control of a new character. The name? Power of Shadow.

As of today, you can download the The Power of Shadow bundle, which allows you to take on the appearance of Sauron's servant, the Black Hand. The new playable character is an antagonist in the regular game. Black Hand comes with three new Epic Runes that grant you new abilities:

  • - 'The One with Nature Rune' makes you immune to poison attacks from Ukuk Captains or Ghuls.
  • - 'The Ascendant Rune' give you double focus time for slow motion ranged combat.
  • - 'The Elven Grace Rune' increases defense, which halves the damage of enemy strikes.

  • Recently, there was an update to the game which allows players to use the new photo mode. This allows you to remove the UI from the screen, capture an image, and tweak various settings, such as the cameras position, the zoom level and field of view, depth of field, lens filters and intensity, vignette and overlays such as film bars and grain effects. This was accompanied by a trailer and a set of instructions

Personally, I feel things like character skin packs should always be free. It doesn't really add any rich content to the game so, to me, it always seems as if they're little add-ons that we're left out to try and get a little extra money. Kudos to Warner Bros. for making this free!

Also Bundlestars are offering the game with 33% off! That's just £19.99 for a cracking title. This is only for 48 hours so grab it while you can.Quote

I am really trying to come up with reasons not to get this game. The only thing I can think of so far is too many games to play and complete in my Steam library, including the Batman Arkham trilogy!Quote
