Ninja Theory unveils Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced for PS5, PC, and Xbox
Senua’s Sacrifice: Hellblade II is getting an Enhanced Edition update on PC and Xbox – PlayStation version incoming
Ninja Theory has just unveiled Senua’s Sacrifice: Hellblade II Enhanced. This new version of Hellblade II will bring the game to Sony’s PlayStation 5 platform and enhance the game on PC and Xbox. This update will arrive on August 12th, the same day the game arrives on PlayStation 5.
On consoles (except Xbox Series S), Hellblade II will receive a new 60 FPS performance mode. Previously, Hellblade was only playable at 30 FPS on Xbox. On PC, the game will be receiving a new “Very High” graphical preset, allowing gamers to push the game’s visuals to the next level.
With the release of the game’s Enhanced update, Hellblade 2 will become Steam Deck Verified. This implies that the game has been optimised to run faster on console and PC. Performance issues prevented Hellblade 2 from running well on Valve’s PC handheld. If this update delivers enhanced performance on PC and consoles, that explains the game’s Steam Deck Verified status, and its inclusion of a new 60 FPS mode.

Hellblade II Enhanced – New features
Alongside the game’s 60 FPS performance mode and new PC graphical options, Hellblade 2 Enhanced brings developer commentaries, an updated photo mode, and adds a “Dark Rot” challenge mode to the game. Dark Rot mode was available in Hellblade 1, placing a Dark Rot on Senua’s body that grows every time she dies. If this rot reaches Senua’s head, the game is over and all progress will be lost.
Currently, it is unknown how Ninja Theory has enhanced Hellblade 2’s performance. 60 FPS was not achievable on the game’s original version. It is possible that the game now runs on a newer, more efficient version of Unreal Engine 5. However, this is just speculation. We expect to learn more about Senua’s Saga’s enhanced version soon.
