No Man’s Sky recieves Experimental fixes for DLSS 3

No Man’s Sky’s DLSS 3 issues have been fixed by an experimental PC update

Earlier this month we reported on the issues that PC gamers were facing when using DLSS 3 Frame Generation in No Man’s Sky. In short, DLSS Frame Generation make the game performance less stable and resulted in visible flickering and other issues. Now, experimental updates have been released on PC to address these issues. Sadly, these changes are not available as part of a full update and are only part of the game’s “experimental” branch on Steam.

In the game’s experimental patch notes, several updates to “DLSS and Streamline” have been made. The patch notes also contain references to “FrameGen” specific fixes. At this time, No Man’s Sky lacks supports for AMD’s FSR 3.1 upscaler, making frame generation exclusive to RTX 40 series GPU users. Note that No Mans Sky currently features AMD’s FSR 2 upscaler on PC. So far, the studio has not commented on any FSR3 or FSR 3.1 update plans.

Unfortunately, it is unknown when these “experimental” update features will come to the mainstream version of No Man’s Sky on PC. To download the experimental update, players must enable it manually on Steam. To opt into this branch, players must navigate to the “Properties” menu for No Man’s Sky on Steam. Then, players must enter the “BETAS” tab. From there, players can enter the code “3xperimental” and use that to enable No Man’s Sky’s experimental updates.
