Nvidia DLSS 4.5 Overrides exit beta for all RTX gamers

Nvidia brings DLSS 4.5 to its Nvidia App, releasing 6x and Dynamic Frame Generation from beta

Following last week’s beta launch, Nvidia has officially added all DLSS 4.5 features to its Nvidia App. This has enabled DLSS Overrides for DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, 6x Frame generation, and DLSS Dynamic Frame Generation, options previously available only in beta.

To enable all of these features, Nvidia users just need to open the Nvidia App. Once updated, users should have access to these new DLSS 4.5 options. Note that DLSS 4.5 6x Frame Generation and Dynamic Frame Generation are only available on RTX 50 series GPUs. Additionally, Nvidia has released an “enhanced Frame Generation AI model” to improve visuals.

New NVIDIA App DLSS 4.5 Overrides Exit Beta

In January, we launched NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, enabling all GeForce RTX gamers to further enhance image quality in hundreds of games and apps via the NVIDIA app.

Last week, we launched an opt-in NVIDIA app beta, enabling early access to DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, DLSS 4.5 6X Multi Frame Generation, and an enhanced Frame Generation AI model.

Now, we’ve officially launched the full suite of NVIDIA app DLSS 4.5 overrides. Simply open the NVIDIA app, and you should soon receive the app update, adding the new overrides, and new app features.

DLSS Dynamic Frame Generation proves that higher isn’t always better

Maximising framerates isn’t always a good thing, especially when it comes to Frame Generation. Ideally, frame generation is a technology that increases visual smoothness and clarity. With that being the case, there is no reason to push frame rates beyond your monitor’s maximum refresh rate.

With DLSS Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation, Nvidia can dynamically adjust your frame generation multiplier to get closer to your screen’s maximum refresh rate (or whatever framerate target you have chosen).

If your framerate is below its target, the multiplier is increased to get closer to your screen’s maximum refresh rate. If real framerates increase, your frame generation multiplier can decrease to improve image quality. This technology can deliver better frame pacing and more consistent framerates.

While 6x frame generation can deliver higher framerates, there’s no point in generating frames that you will never see. With Dynamic Frame Generation, Nvidia can deliver the highest frame rates your screen supports and improve frame pacing/ frame consistency.
