Early Nvidia GeForce 616.00 Windows 11 on ARM driver confirms Nvidia RTX Spark N1X specifications
Nvidia has released its first “Developer Preview” driver for its Microsoft Surface RTX Spark Dev box, and while it isn’t intended for consumer devices, it sheds some light on Nvidia’s future RTX Spark laptops. This driver is an Nvidia GeForce driver for Windows 11 ARM devices, a first-of-its-kind driver from Nvidia.
Windows Latest were able to analyse this driver and uncover two Nvidia RTX Spark N1X GPU configurations. These include a 6144-core Blackwell RTX GPU and a 5120-core RTX Blackwell GPU. These GPUs are paired with ARM-based CPU cores and utilise unified LPDDR5X memory. There are also notes for a “Nvidia Desktop Device”, suggesting that Nvidia’s RTX Spark chips will extend beyond laptops.
With 6144 CUDA cores, Nvidia’s flagship RTX Spark chip will feature as many CUDA cores as a desktop RTX 5070 graphics card. However, the mobile nature of this chip and its limited power budget should make this GPU much less performant than Nvidia’s desktop GPU offering. That said, with support for up to 128GB of unified memory, Nvidia’s RTX Spark will have advantages in data-heavy AI workloads.

This driver has confirmed the existence of multiple Nvidia RTX Spark (N1X) SKUs. It also confirms that Nvidia’s RTX Spark Silicon features a rather large Blackwell RTX GPU component. Furthermore, it confirms Nvidia’s readiness to release dedicated GeForce ARM drivers for Windows. This positions Nvidia well for its full RTX Spark laptop launch later this year.
