Nvidia’s RTX trailer for Atomic Heart gives off crazy Bioshock vibes

Nvidia has just released a new trailer for Atomic Heart, showcasing the game with ray tracing and DLSS enabled. Based on this trailer, we are sure that Atomic Heart will use ray-traced reflections and ray-traced shadows, just like the game’s RTX Tech Demo.

Looking at this trailer, gamers should also see a crazy world that’s not too dissimilar to Bioshock, featuring strange powers, weird technology and experiments that have undoubtedly gone too far.

In Atomic Heart, the game takes place within a world where the technological revolution took place before or around the cold war, creating technological innovations like robots, the internet and holograms within an atmosphere of communism, imperialism and war readiness. Players, who assume a Soviet Special Duty KGB officer’s role, must investigate Facility 3826, a location where a large robotics control system has malfunctioned.

Atomic Heart is currently due to release sometime in 2021, and it is likely to be one of the best looking games on PC when it launches. With Nvidia backing this title, the game will likely run best on Geforce RTX hardware, especially once the company’s DLSS technology is added into the mix. Nvidia has been working with Mundfish on Atomic Heart’s ray tracing support since 2018, making the game one of Nvidia’s longest ray tracing collaborations to date.
