Overcooked is currently available for free on PC through the Epic Games Store

For the next week, Overcooked will be available for free on PC, coming to users of Windows-powered PCs via the Epic Games Store. While its sequel, Overcooked 2 is already available, this free promotion enables PC gamers to try out the series’ original incarnation, which is a fun experience which is playable ion both co-op and in solo modes.

Overcooked is one of those games that you wouldn’t expect to be as addictive as it is, offering fast-paced action in the form of a chaotic culinary quest. The game is available to play in solo mode or in couch co-op with up to five players, enabling chefs to go it alone or take part in co-operative and competitive challenges.

The idea is simple, orders come in and you must cook, finish your orders on time and operate some of the most unusual kitchens of the Onion kingdom. The controls are simple, but the challenge of the game is time management, fast reactions and solid teamwork.

Overcooked will be available for free until June 11th, after which a mystery game will be available for free on Epic’s gaming platform.

It was rumoured that Ark Survival Evolved would be available for free on the Epic Games Store this week, but this free game promo was likely delayed due to the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests in the US. Studio Wildcard was planning to start an Ark in-game event today, which has now been delayed until June 11th, the same day that Epic plans to give away another “mystery game”.

PC gamers can redeem a free copy of Overcooked’s PC version on the Epic Games Store.
