Planet Coaster officially releases later this week on PC, with beta access already being available to owners of the game's Thrillseekers Edition.  This game comes from Frontier Developments, the developers of Elite Dangerous and more importantly the developers of the Expansion packs for Rollercoaster Tycoon 2.

With Planet Coaster Frontier wants to create a game that not only allows you to create custom coaster parks and provide an accurate simulation but also allow players to share custom rides, scenery, shops and other buildings, giving the game an almost endless supply of post-launch content.

Today with only the beta release of the game Planet Coaster fans have already added over 10,000 items to Planet Coaster's section of the Steam Workshop, including a full recreation of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade from the Harry Potter series.

Even before the game's official launch Planet Coaster early access beta has already become one of the top 100 played games on Steam, showcasing exactly how much demand there is for a new entry into the theme park building genre.

Planet Coaster plans to become the Cities: Skylines of the theme park genre, creating a modern take on a classic game series with full 3D graphics and a more authentic simulation than ever before.

Planet Coaster will be releasing on PC on November 17th, with the Thrillseeker Edition featuring an early access beta which is available now. You can have a look at Planet Coaster's PC system requirements here.
