PPSSPP, the Famed PSP emulator has now became available on the Google Play Store as version 1.0. While this emulator was previously available on android and Jail-broken iOS devices for a while now, this step has made PSP emulation much easier than it ever has been before.

This emulator offer pretty much anything any PSP enthusiast would require, resolution upscaling options, which is great as the PSP operated at a meagre 480x272, full controller rebinding, mapping, keyboard control and most astounding of all multiplayer (for Multiplayer PSP games).

For Andriod PPSSPP is for free on the Google Play Store, but will include some ads. These adds can be removed with the Gold edition which can be purchased for $5.99 on the official website. The emulator comes without any preloaded games, so you will have to obtain your own ROMs, which should be of games you already own, tisk, tisk.

Here is some information that PPSSPP has on their own website:

Play your PSP games in HD!

PPSSPP can run your PSP games on your PC in full HD resolution, and play them on Android too. It can even upscale textures that would otherwise be too blurry as they were made for the small screen of the original PSP.

Even on modern Android phones and tablets, you can often run at double the original resolution.

Enhance your experience!

  • Play in HD resolutions and more
  • Play on a tablet for big-screen mobile gaming
  • Customize on-screen touch controls or use an external controller or keyboard
  • Save and restore game state anywhere, anytime
  • Crank up the anisotropic filtering and texture scaling
  • Continue where you left off by transferring saves from your real PSP

The only requirement of this emulator is that you are using android 2.3 or higher, though I would advise using more recent devices due to more powerful hardware, so results will vary from device to device.
