PUBG has renovated their Miramar Map in their latest patch

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds currently features two maps, both of which offer the same overall map size with Erangel offering a forest fill countryside while Miramar drops players into a comparatively barren desert.

With most of Miramar acting as a vast wasteland with minimal hiding places or weapon spawns, it is understandable why many PUBG players avoid this map like the plague, preferring the game’s original Erangel location.

For a while now, a portion of PUBG’s playerbase has been seeking the addition of map selection options, though instead PUBG Corp has decided to rework and upgrade their Miramar map, hopefully improving the map’s playability.

PUBG Test servers now contain this new Miramar map, which has more roads to connect areas, an Oasis area in the northern section of the map and a new village called Alcantara in the northwest. More vehicle spawns have also been added to the area as well as more high-tier spawns areas in the north of the map.

Both PUBG maps have also been updated to include “optimized” buildings, which will help to improve PUBG’s performance on PC. Blue zone movement speed, time delay and damage have also been updated, giving players less time to linger between phases while slowing down the speed of the blue sone in most cases.

The PUBG team has also reported that “in-game clothing spawns have been removed”, though the reasoning behind this change is unclear.

If everything works as intended, PUBG’s updated Miramar map will come to live servers sometime this week, adding some necessary quality of life improvements to PUBG’s least popular location.
