Resident Evil Code Veronica and RE:0 remakes leak

Capcom’s currently making two Resident Evil Remakes – 2027/2028 releases targeted

Recent years have seen Capcom remake much of the Resident Evil franchise. Now, it looks like two more RE series games are getting remakes, these are Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil: Zero.

According to “Dusk Golem”, a known game leaker, these remakes are currently targeting a 2027/2028 release. However, the leaker is uncertain which game will launch first. Previously, this leaker has shared details about Resident Evil 9, Resident Evil 4, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and other games ahead of their official announcements.

In 2023, Capcom surveyed gamers to ask which games they would like to see remade next. As expected, Code Veronica has proved to be a popular game in that survey. To many fans of the series, Code Veronica is considered to be the “true sequel” to Resident Evil 2, following Claire and Chris Redfield in the aftermath of Resident Evil 2.

Resident Evil 9 is due to be released in 2026, and it makes sense for Capcom to be working on future Resident Evil projects. New remakes would be welcomed by fans, especially for the series’ older entries. Many new Resident Evil fans do not want to play the series’ oldest releases. Simply put, their visuals and gameplay are not up to modern standards. That said, classic Resident Evil games do have their charms.
