Capcom might consider a Code Veronica Remake after Resident Evil 4

During an interview with Noisy PixelYoshiaki Hirabayashi, Resident Evil 4's (Remake's) producer, has stated that he is interested in working on a Remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Capcom's unnumbered sequel to Resident Evil 2/3.

Code Veronica is a fan-favourite game for Resident Evil fans, but it is a lesser known title for those outside of the game's die-hard fanbase. In recent years, Capcom has released Remakes for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, and next year, Capcom plans to release a Remake of Resident Evil 4. Many fans of the franchise were understandably miffed that Code Veronica was skipped by Capcom, with many arguing that Code Veronica is more deserving of a Remake than Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil 4 is a classic, and while the game could benefit from some modernised visuals, the game remains fun to play. If anything, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 were remade to give both games gameplay that is more similar to Resident Evil 4 and their originals. With this in mind, it is easy to see why fans argue that Resident Evil 4 benefits less from a remake than other games in the series. That said, Resident Evil 4 was popular, and its remake is guaranteed to make Capcom a lot of money.

In his interview with Noisy Pixel, Hirabayashi confirmed that there are currently no concrete plans to remake Code Veronica. However, the developer is interested in working on the game if the "opportunity comes, maybe."
