Rockstar confirms that Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on Steam on December 5th

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been available on PC for three weeks now, both via the Epic Games Store and Rockstar’s standalone games launcher. Now, Rockstar Games has confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be releasing on Steam on December 5th, one month after the game’s PC release.

At the time of writing, Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PC with 20% discounts on both the Humble Store and the Epic Games Store. These discounts may not be available on Steam when the game releases there.

One factor that’s worth noting is that Red Dead Redemption 2’s Steam version is likely to launch Rockstar’s Game Launcher and then the game itself, just like Steam’s version of Grand Theft Auto VI and the Epic Games Store version of Red Dead Redemption 2.

At this time of writing, Rockstar Games has announced no Steam exclusive features for the PC version of Red Dead Redemption II, which means that the game is likely to lack support for features like Steam Workshop support and other Steam-exclusive features.

Sadly, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains unavailable for pre-order on Steam.
