Rockstar takes extreme measures to prevent GTA 6 leaks

Grand Theft Auto 6 reportedly goes Digital Only to prevent leaks

Rockstar and Take-Two are taking extreme measures to ensure that there are no GTA 6 leaks ahead of the game’s launch. According to ppe.pl, Take-Two has no plans to launch physical editions of GTA IV at launch, preventing disk-based versions of the game from reaching gamers early.

As a digital-only game, GTA 6 will not be available to the public ahead of its release date. Only Rockstar insiders and reviewers should be able to play the game ahead of release, and both of those groups will have signed non-disclosure agreements.

Physical versions of Grand Theft Auto 6 will reportedly be available after launch. However, it is unclear when the game’s physical release will be.

We’re hearing more and more that the physical version won’t be released simultaneously with the digital version to prevent leaks

It’s clear that Rockstar and Take-Two don’t want any of GTA 6’s content leaked or spoiled. Regardless, it is hard to see these measures to prevent GTA 6 leaks as anything less than extreme. The company has reportedly fired employees for minor leaks, and is keeping almost all details about the game a secret.

Grand Theft Auto IV is due to be released this year, and so far, the game has only two trailers (1, 2). After several delays, GTA IV currently has a November 19th release date. However, it is possible that the game could be delayed again.
