Rockstar Games has officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2

Over the weekend Rockstar has been teasing a new release in their Red Dead series of video games, with rumours suggesting that a current generation remaster of Red Dead Redemption and/or a sequel are currently in the works.

Now Rockstar Games has officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2, with a planned release sometime in Fall 2017.

At this time it is unknown what platforms this game will release on, though PS4 and Xbox One versions have already been confirmed. Will there be a version for Nintendo's unannounced Nintendo NX console?

Given the popularity of GTA V on PC, it is expected that a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is also in the works, though it may release after the console versions. The first trailer for this game will release this Thursday at 11am EST.

Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.

But nothing on PC. Which is just appalling as they really don't have any justification for that. Also I wonder if RDR2 online will be just as hack-tastic as GTA V?Quote

This is exactly what happened with GTA V. Initial announcement was consoles and later was announced for PC. We will just have to wait and see if they announce it at a later date.

As for justification, that's a simple one, the first game was never on PC!

Online being hack-tastic, that's a given. There isn't a online game that isn't. Why would this one be any different?Quote

They don't need justification. If they didn't want to make a PC version, that is there decision. What's wrong about that?
Besides, they didn't even deny anything about PC. Give it time.Quote
