Rebellion entertainment has confirmed that the PC version of Sniper Elite 4 will support DirectX 12 at launch, offering gamers enhanced framerates/performance levels.

Sniper Elite 3, this game's predecessor was one of the first titles to use AMD's Mantle API, an API that is regarded by many is the inspiration behind both Vulkan and DirectX 12. Sniper Elite 3's Mantle version offered some significant performance gains over its DX11 counterpart, which makes Sniper Elite 4's DirectX 12 version a very interesting prospect.

We've worked really hard to make Sniper Elite 4 our biggest and best game ever,

And now the power of DirectX 12 on PC means we can take things even further for our fans who want the best sniper experience in the world. We're turning everything up to 12!

The game will require a minimum of a GTX 660 or an HD 7870 GPU with 2GB of VRAM and at least 4GB of system memory. The game will require at least 4 CPU threads and will require a CPU that is at least as powerful as a Sandy bridge Intel i3 2100.

MINIMUM:

    • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, 64-bit Windows 8.1 or 64-bit Windows 10
    • Processor: Intel CPU Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (2GB)

RECOMMENDED:

    • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, 64-bit Windows 8.1 or 64-bit Windows 10
    • Processor: Intel CPU Core i7-3770 or AMD equivalent
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 970 / AMD GPU Radeon RX 480

Right now Sniper Elite 4 is set to release on February 14th on Steam. The game will release on PC, Xbox One and PS4, coming with both a dedicated single player and a dedicated Co-op campaign, with the title being built from the ground up for modern hardware.

So far the only game I've seen get better with DX12 is The Division, I'm hoping This will be another.Quote

AotS and Hitman? Well, for AMD at least. Especially hitman.

Dx12 is great and all, but if it is a boring repetitive game, it won't save it..Quote

I've only really had the chance to test on Nvidia so far but The Division is the only DX12 title I've actually seen gains on and some pretty good ones too, On the benchmark with everything maxed the average on DX11 was around 61 and with DX12 it was 79 so quite a big gain and this translates into the actual game too not just the benchmark
