STALKER 2 has been delayed again
GSC Game World has delayed STALKER 2 until November 2024
STALKER 2’s release date has now moved from September 5th to November 20th. Yes, STALKER 2 has been delayed again. GSC Game World states that this additional development time will give the studio the chance to fix some “unexpected anomalies”.
Next month, GSC Game World will be histing a new “developer deep dive” for their game alongside Xbox. This deep dive will be hosted on August 12th, and will show never before seen footage of the game. This event will give gamers their deepest look at STALKER 2 yet.

To all our players,
STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl will now be launching on November 20th 2024. Moving from our previously planned date of September 5th 2024. We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience. These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more “unexpected anomalies” (or simply “bugs”, as you call them).
STALKER 2 is shaping up to be everything we envisioned, with the launch nearly here, and we are incredibly excited to share more with you. To give you a taste of what’s coming, we’re thrilled to announce the STALKER 2 developer deep dive video, which will be released on Xbox media channels on August 12th. This detailed update will include exclusive interviews, lots of new footage, and a full video walkthrough of one of the game quests. We can’t wait for you to see it and get a comprehensive understanding of how the game looks and plays.
We are always grateful for your ongoing support and understanding – it means the world to us. We’re just as eager as you are to finally release the game and for you to experience it for yourself.
STALKER 2 is shaping up to be one of the most graphically impressive games on 2024. On PC, the game will be available through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store. The game will also be available through PC Game Pass on day-1. The game uses Unreal Engine 5 and the game’s PC system requirements are available to look at here.
STALKER 2’s new release date is November 20th 2024 on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
