Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection suffers major server issues at launch

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection sees “Mostly Negative” Reviews for players at launch

So far, things aren’t looking good for the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection. So far, reviews for the game on Steam are “Mostly Negative“, with players reporting server issues and other problems.

Several reviews have stated that the game has launched with only three PC servers. This is woefully inadequate for a game with multiplayer component that had already has a concurrent player peak of over 9,000 players. Gamers have also complained about the lack of control customisation options, something that should be expected from a modern PC port of a classic game.

Between bugs and server problems, it is clear that this Battlefront Collection needs some work. As it stands, the originals (with some modding) can provide gamers with a much better experience. That’s not a good look for a premium remaster.

As it stands, if you wanted to buy this collection for its multiplayer, you should wait for game updates before making your purchase. If you are interested in the game’s single player modes, the collection is easier to recommend. That said, the original games are still available on Steam at a much lower price than this new collection. Perhaps these games are a better option for Battlefront fans, at least from a value perspective.
