Star Wars: The Old Republic has arrived on Steam

Electronic Arts has just released Star Wars: The Old Republic, the company’s free-to-play Star Wars MMO, on Steam, making the RPG available to play on Steam for the first time.

PC gamers can down access The Old Republic on Steam, subscribe to the MMO through the client and purchase Cartel Coins through Valve’s gaming client, opening the MMO to a wide playerbase on PC.

In Star Wars: The Old Republic, gamers are able to play as Jedi, Sith, Bounty Hunters, and a variety of other classes, taking part in story-focused sagas which take place over 3,000 years before all of the Star Wars movies. During this Star Wars Era, the Sith Empire is still at large, the Rule of Two doesn’t exist yet and The Republic is nothing like its filmic incarnations.

Right now, Star Wars; The Old Republic has five story-driven expansions and over 20 playable planets, which include well-known worlds like Hoth, Tatooine, Alderaan, Corellia and Coruscant.

PC gamers can now play Star Wars; The Old Republic on Steam.
