Steam has surpassed 10 million concurrent players for the first time

Steam’s player counts have topped 10 million for the first time – PC Gaming continues to grow

Steam’s player base continues to grow, having finally surpassed 10 million concurrent players this week and over 33 million concurrent users, highlighting the continued growth of Steam as PC gaming’s number 1 platform.

As of today, Steam’s peak concurrent player count is now 10,284,568, a value that highlights the incredible growth that Steam has seen over the past five years. Back then, having more than 7 million active players was newsworthy, and now that number is exceeded on a daily basis.

Today, Steam’s most popular games include Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which has concurrent player counts that frequently top 1 million, DOTA 2, Lost Ark, Apex Legends, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and Goose Goose Duck, all of which have had peak player counts of over 300,000 over the past 24 hours.

Steam’s growth has remained strong despite competition in the form of the Epic Games Store, and the introduction of PC Game Pass by Microsoft. These competitors are doing little to hamper Steam’s growth prospects, and it is probable that Steam’s player base will only continue to grow in the years to come.
