Super Meat Boy is now available for free on the Epic Games Store

For the next two weeks, Super Meat Boy will be available for free on the Epic Games Store, giving PC gamers a great opportunity to play the indie classic before the release of the game’s sequel in early 2019.

Team Meat, the developers of Super Meat Boy, have confirmed that the game’s Sequel, Super Meat Boy Forever, will release in 2019 as an Epic Games Store timed exclusive, with the developer planning to release the game on Steam sometime in 2020. The game will also be released on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

To redeem the game PC users require a free Epic Games Store account, with the free promotion ending on January 10th. After this offer ends a new game will be available for free on the storefront, though this game has not been announced at this time.

One limitation of the Epic Games Store version of Super Meat Boy is the fact that the game is only available on Windows-powered operating systems, even though Super Meat Boy is available on Windows, MacOS and Linux on Steam.

Below are Super Meat Boy’s PC system requirements for Windows PCs. Note that this game requires a Direct Input gamepad to function correctly.
