Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is coming to PC – Here’s what you need to run it

Bandai Namco has confirmed that its next Sword Art Online game, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will be coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 22nd, bringing the game series into the Manga/Anime’s Alicization Arc. 

The game will be based within a timeline that’s separate from the main series, but familiar characters from Sword Art Online’s Alicization arc will be present, including Eugeo, Alice and the Pontifex. The game will also contain several original characters. 

After the game’s launch, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will receive a series of free updates which will include new gameplay content, monthly raids, daily quests, changes to the game’s “cube system” and other add-ons. Paid content will be paid for using the game’s premium SAO Coins currency. 

On PC, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will be available through Valve’s Steam client, and has Windows 10 listed as its required OS. No macOS or Linux support is planned. 

System requirements have already been listed for the game, asking gamers for a minimum of 8GB of system memory, 3GB of VRAM, 45GB of available storage and a graphics card that’s equal to, or more powerful than, a GTX 780 or an R9 290. CPU-wise, the game will require something that’s equal to or greater than Intel’s i7-3770 or AMD’s FX-8350. 

Moving up to the game’s recommended system requirements, graphics cards on the level of AMD’s RX Vega 56 and Nvidia’s GTX 1070 are listed alongside 16GB of system memory and CPUs like AMD’s Ryzen 5 3600 and Intel’s i7-7700K. The game will use Microsoft’s DirectX 11 API.
