System Shock's Remake has been delayed until Q2 2018

In a new FAQ, Night Dive Studios has announced that their upcoming System Shock remake will be delayed and is expected to be released by Q2 2018.

At this time the developers have not confirmed whether the game will launch on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One and PS4 simultaneously, though the developers say that they will try to. This means that System Shock's remake will not be released for over a year, so it should be placed at the back of your mind until the start of 2018.

Right now there is a playable demo available for System Shock's Remake on SteamGOG and the Humble Store, giving potential backers the chance to play a demo version of the game before putting any money down.

Below are the PC system requirements for System Shocks playable demo, though the developers have stated that they plan to reduce the system requirements for the final release.

MINIMUM:

    • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 670 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or better
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 2 GB available space

RECOMMENDED:

    • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770/AMD FX-8350 or better
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB/AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB or better
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 2 GB available space

While it is disappointing that System Shock's remake will not be released for over a year, this delay will ensure that the game gets enough development time and will hopefully allow the game to meet the high standards of both PC and console gamers.
