Take-Two are planning to re-release two games, fuelling Red Dead Redemption Rumours

Take-Two plans to re-release two games this year, and one of them could be Red Dead Redemption

As part of a recent earnings call, Take Two Interactive have confirmed that they plan to re-release two games this fiscal year, adding fuel to the fire that is Red Dead Redemption Remaster Rumours. 

Last week, it was confirmed that Red Dead Redemption was re-rated in South Korea by the country’s Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC), suggesting that a new version of Rockstar’s wild west gaming classic is in the works. 

Below is what Take-Two’s Karl Slatoff had to say about the company’s planned re-releases; 

     We also plan to launch 2 new iterations of previously-released titles, and 3 independent titles, including Private Division’s planned May 23rd release of After Us from Piccolo Studio. 

While Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive have not confirmed that Red Dead Redemption is getting remastered, there is undeniable demand for a re-release of the game. At launch, Red Dead Redemption was available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, which means that today’s gamers have a tough time playing the original Red Dead Redemption today. The game also lacked a PC version, which means that there is particularly high demand for a remaster from PC gamers. 

Red Dead Redemption is a game that is ripe for a remaster. While Xbox One and Xbox Series owners can play the original Xbox 360 version of Red Dead Redemption though backwards compatibility, a native version of the game is unavailable for modern gaming platforms. 

If Take-Two’s first re-release is Red Dead Redemption, it will be interesting to see if their second planned re-release will be Red Dead Redemption 2. Red Dead Redemption 2 could benefit from a current generation re-release, potentially adding support for higher resolution gameplay and 60 FPS for owners of current-generation consoles.
