Team Ninja surprise-launch Ninja Gaiden 2 Black

Team Ninja have remade Ninja Gaiden 2 using Unreal Engine 5

At Microsoft’s 2025 Developer Direct event, Team Ninja revealed and released Ninja Gaiden 2 Black for PC and consoles. So far, the game has “Mostly Positive” reviews on Steam and is available on PC as a standalone game and through PC Game Pass.

Team Ninja calls this release the “Definitive Edition” of this Xbox 360-era hack-and-slash. This version of the game has been rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5. The game’s “stages, characters, effects, and lighting” have all been ” redesigned and remastered”, and a lot of new content has been added to the game.

This remaster includes elements from Team Ninja’s spin-off games. It includes Momiji, Ayane, and Rachel as playable characters and a new “HERO PLAY STYLE” mode.
