Dying Light 2 will run a lot faster when DLSS or FSR are enabled
Techland has released updated PC system requirements for Dying Light 2's PC version, revealing the performance of the game when Nvidia's DLSS technology is factored in alongside ray tracing.
With these new system requirements, Techland has listed Nvidia's RTX 3080 as being capable of 4K 60 FPS gameplay with high RT settings when DLSS is enabled. Additionally, Nvidia's RTX 2070 is capable of 1080p 60 FPS with ray tracing enabled and DLSS.
With DLSS, Techland had been able to boost Dying Light 2's performance significantly on compatible systems, and non-RTX systems should be able to achieve similar performance increases using AMD's FSR technology.
With DLSS, Techland has stated that 4K 60 FPS performance is possible using an RTX 3080 at high RT settings. This should come as great news for Nvidia users, as without DLSS the same system was listed as offering 1080p 60 FPS performance late last year (link).

Techland's pushing ray tracing hard with Dying Light 2, so much so that we will likely need to wait for multiple generations of graphics cards before we will be able to see that game at 4K 60 FPS on PC at maxed out RT settings, without technologies like FSR and DLSS. This is why smart upscaling technologies should be seen as critically important for all GPU manufacturers, as it has the potential to deliver ultra high resolutions visuals without an huge increase in computational cost over lower resolution rendering, effectively acting as a free performance upgrade for gamers.
