Epic Games and Skybound Games have announced that Telltale’s The Walking Dead series will return to PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive, which means that the game will not be returning to Steam, the Windows Store and other PC storefronts.

In the case of The Walking Dead: The Final Season, which currently has two more episodes in development, all owners of the game will receive new episodes and content on the storefronts where they originally purchased the game, which means that owners of the Steam version will be able to access the full game as new episodes are released.

Episode 3 of The Walking Dead: The Final Season, titled “Broken Toys”, will release on January 15th on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PS4. As part of a joint statement with Epic Games, Skybound stated that Epic Games “stepped up to the plate” to help the company to hire former Telltale staff and restart production on Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season.

The team at Epic owns a major chapter in the history of the game industry,  We’re excited to work together on their latest transformative event with the launch of the Epic Games Store. Epic stepped up to the plate immediately to work with us in order to bring the original team back together and ensure fans will receive the completed season of ‘Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season.
