The article is a little more constructive than the title implies, as most of the annoyances listed can be improved upon. While none of the next-gen consoles can be considered perfect, Sony’s Playstation 3 has had its fair share of criticism , with it’s price and lack of exclusive titles being some of the biggest complaints. Fortunately these problems can be worked on, though gamers aren’t always the patient type.

“Much has been made of how Sony is nowhere near where it should be in terms of downloadable content, and its PlayStation Store is a joke compared to Microsoft’s Xbox Live and Apple’s iTunes Store. To make matters worse, navigating the online storefront is a chore as you attempt to center the cursor on a desired icon or button and select it with the X button. While Sony continues to add new content weekly, the rumored arrival of a totally revamped Connect service with music and movie downloads has yet to materialize.”

The ten things that the source’s Author cites as ‘irks’ about the Playstation 3, have been listed below:

1. The price
2. No must-have exclusive games
3. No background downloading
4. System updates are a hassle
5. The Web browser needs work
6. PS3 downscales 720p on TVs that don’t support the resolution
7. No DVD upscaling
8. No IR support
9. HDMI issues/overcomplicated audio options
10. Anemic PlayStation Store

With all the negative news that has been floating around about the Playstation 3, one thing many PS3 owners are eagerly awaiting is Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. The PS3 port of the game is expected to be out sometime next month, and features all the content mods that were released for the XBOX 360 and PC (just the mini mods, not the expansion which is also scheduled to be released next month).
