The classic platformer Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 is currently available for free on Steam

Until June 15th, the PlayStation 2 era platformer Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 will be available for free on Steam, granting all PC gamers the ability to play the classic PC platformer at higher resolutions and framerates than ever before. 

This free game promotion celebrates the upcoming announcement of a new Lau the Kangaroo game, which is due to be revealed soon. This game will offer players modern visuals, a new story, new challenges, enemy types, bosses and more. PC gamers should see this free promotion for Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 as a free taster of what’s to come from Tate Multimedia’s next Kao game. 

The Steam version of Kau the Kangaroo: Round 2 features support for 60Hz gameplay, high-resolution displays, modern gamepads such as the Xbox One, Xbow 360 and PlayStation 4 controllers, cloud saves and Steam achievements. This means that Kao the Kangaroo will both look and play better than before, though the game will still be the same early 2000s action platformer that players loved. 

So far, Steam reviews for the game have been “Very Positive”, with gamers comparing Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 to Rayman 2, Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter. While Kao the Kangaroo might not be as famous as these other games, the fact that they are being compared is a good sign for newcomers to the franchise.
