The Last of Us Part 1’s first PC patch has been released, and more are coming
Patch 1.0.1.5 has landed for The Last of Us Part 1 on PC
The Last of Us Part 1 has received its first PC patch, and it takes aim at the game’s stability and performance, hoping to reduce hitching and performance issues within the game.Â
Sadly, The Last of Us Part 1 has launched in a poor state on PC, with high VRAM utilisation, high instances of crashing for many players, and poor CPU performance for all PC players. Sadly, patch 1.0.1.5 has not noticeably improved The Last of Us Part 1’s performance on our test system, though Naughty Dog has been clear that more patches for The Last of Us Part 1 are coming.
Below are the release notes for The Last of Us Part 1’s PC patch 1.0.1.5.
  Patch Notes – Update 1.0.1.5
– Fixed several performance & hitch related issues impacting some users.
– Note: Additional improvements and investigations based on user feedback are underway.
– Added extra crash diagnostic information to assist in investigating shader building related crashes and other common reported stability issues.
Hopefully Sony will, Naughty Dog, and Iron Galaxy will be able to work together to address the issues that are present within The Last of Us Part 1’s PC version. Simply put, PC gamers deserve better than this, especially if Sony wants PC gamers to continue taking their PC gaming efforts seriously. Even now The Last of Us Part 1 has a “Mostly Negative” review rating on Steam, and crashing and performance issues remain a common sight for gamers. Let’s hope that future patches deliver more substantial improvements.
