The Witcher 3 Xbox One framerate to be locked at 30fps

It's no news that The Witcher 3 doesn't run too great on Xbox One. Framerates are very unstable, sometimes shooting above 30fps, but sometimes dipping below, as stated in a digital foundry performance analysis. When someone asked PC Projekt Red community lead Marcin Momot why they didn't just lock the framerate at 30fps, Momot answered that a lock will come with an upcoming patch.

Said patch should currently be going through Microsoft's certification process, meaning that it should be released relatively soon. A patch fixing PlayStation 4's performance issues was released earlier today. Of course, the PC-version of the action RPG has seen numerous patches.

It's a good thing CD Projekt Red is addressing these issues, as a frame rate below 30fps can lead to annoying stuttering. An in-depth explanation on how frame rate influence gaming performance can be found in our recent article.
